Cacaote, Senopati

Well, who doesn't know this heaven for the sweet tooth?? People talk about this place since its opening, and yet still until now. The place itself is really easy to spot by its red-brick color wall and the big sign "CACAOTE" in front of its building. What i can tell you about the place is it's so glamor and elegant from the outside, with big glass door just like if you entered a castle. You can see through the glass door that there's a beautiful chandelier to welcome you inside.

They are two separated areas: the non smoking area at the 1st floor which is more casual along with the cake display, while the smoking area at the 2nd floor is more elegant and classic modern.

As you can see, the second floor area is so much elegant with the wooden floor, dark chairs and sofas. Aside from the desserts, they also have full meals menu. Since i was still full from lunch, me and my girl, A, ordered their cakes and drinks.

Here, i ordered Grapes and Mint Leaf (40k) along with a flawless cake named Coffee and Banana (40k). The drink somehow was a little too sweet for my liking, but yet fresh and suitable for a hot sunny day. It consists of grapes, pear, mint leaf, grape juice, and mojito syrup. And as for the cake, love how flawless the shape ( i need sometime to convince myself just to cut the cake! hahaha), and as you can see the photos  below, there are layers inside the cake. For the taste itself i might say not too sweet, really soft and light, but i can barely taste the coffee.

Grapes & Mint Leaf (40k)

Coffee & Banana (40k)

Finally had the guts to slice this flawles cake!
My best friend, A, chose Violet (45k) and Matcha Opera (40k). The drink had such a bright purple color and refreshing taste. It consists of grape, red dragon fruit, lemon, cranberry juice, vanilla syrup, and blackberry jam. And for the cake, i couldn't recall the taste since it was hers (sorry...), but what i can remember, they said it was one of their most favorite cake.

Matcha Opera (40k)

If i could give another plus point was their service, from the valet service until the service inside the restaurant. I love how they treat their customer. Definitely gave a moment worth to remember for me :)

Coming back? Sure, still have the curiosity about their pretty cakes.

Hyde Restaurant & Bar, Kemang

Finally, i can managed a girls-foodie-day with one of my beloved best friend, A. It's been a while since the last time we did this. And i was so thrilled and excited about this. After some long conversations, we decided to go to Hyde, Kemang. It's been quite a hip place that most people talked about, especially for their unique dessert named Chocolate Soil.

The place itself was quite easy to find, just around the corner near Lin's Artisan Ice Cream or near Die Stube. The first thing that caught my eyes was their exterior - interior; big windows ( i love big windows!), wood table, also the earthy dominant color.

Garden - Outside Area
Bar

Since i got there when the sun was still at its finest, around 2PM, it was pretty warm inside although the AC was on. But the good thing is it was really bright inside, so i could get some pretty good pictures (yeaayy!)

We came here for lunch. We decided to skip the appetizer and straight to the mains. I asked the waitress about the detail explanation for some specific menu but she couldn't explain well (hmm..). After struggling for some time, i ordered White Salmon Fettuccine and Peach Ice Tea, while A had Stuffed Chicken Breast and Strawberry Ice Tea.

Peach Ice Tea (25k)

Strawberry Ice Tea (25k)

They use fruit syrup to give flavor to the tea. For me, my peach ice tea didn't taste as peachy as i like although i poured almost all of the syrup.
White Salmon (75k)
Pasta with fresh Norwegian salmon and wilted spinach served in creamy sauce. You can choose the pasta for this menu. Pasta was al dente, salmon was fresh, but i'm not a fan of their creamy sauce.
Stuffed Chicken Breast (89k)
Pan glazed cumin scented stuffed chicken breast served with mashed potato and salad. The chicken itself stuffed with some kind of spinach mixture. This was so-so to me.

I'm a fan of their beautiful exterior - interior, but the food was just so-so. I hope i just picked the wrong menu. And i think they need to improve their service. Going back? Well, maybe to try their dessert.

JJ Royal Brasserie, Lotte Shopping Avenue

Everybody who pass in front of Lotte Shopping Avenue will always notices this cute and eye-catching restaurant. Located just near the main lobby, you will easily spots JJ Royal Brasserie. Since the first time this restaurant opened, i've been really curious about what's this restaurant have. I found their interior very unique. There are barbie-looks faces all over the place, their ceiling, chairs, tables, etc. And i might say they have all the complete areas. They have the indoor non smoking area, the bar, the semi outdoor smoking -  non smoking area, and the outdoor area. They also have a DJ playing at night.

Bar

On my previous visit with R, i tried their Pork Katsu Curry served with Steamed Long Grain Rice and Spicy Crispy Chicken Burger along with Peach & Lychee Twist and Peach Ice Tea. They came in a generous portion and also satisfying taste, delicious!

Peach & Lychee Twist (55k) and Peach Ice Tea (35k)

This time i came to try their desserts. I came with my friend, K. Since both of us were still stuffed with lunch, we decided to go for "tea-time". The place itself was not too packed when i arrived. But just after a few minutes while waiting for my order to be served, the place suddenly filled up quite fast since it was almost dinner time.

The Devlin (40k)

Chocolate layer cake with raspberry jam. Love the intensity of the chocolate and balanced with the sourness of the raspberry jam. I managed to eat the whole piece of cake by myself, meaning i love the cake that i won't share it with anybody. I'm not a fan of macaroon, but their macaroon is so lovely, not too sweet but just right to my liking. yumm..

Razzle Dazzle Cronut (35k)
Flaky pastry doughnut with Raspberry cream and raspberry chunks.

English Breakfast (35k) and Mint & Fresh (35k)
Most restaurants use Twinnings, but here they use Ronnefeldt Tea. The English Breakfast was K's and the Mint & Fresh was mine. They came with cute silver teapots. Love the aroma and how the hint of mint tasted. I definitely fall in love at the first sip with this tea.

Overall, my two visits here are satisfying. Love the atmosphere, the kind service, and also the food.

Garcon - Bistro & Bar, Plaza Senayan

The french bistro, bar and patisserie located in Plaza Senayan, just under the cinema on the 4th floor. Garcon means "exploring the delights of youth". Been curios about this place for quite sometime, and then one fine afternoon i made it to went there with one of my friend, C, and my cousin, S.

Love the interior and the atmosphere. When we arrived, the place was almost packed. The area itself is separated to two areas, smoking and non smoking. There's also tables with high chairs near the bar. When you first enter the place, your eyes will be spoiled by the long cake display. They have various kinds of eclairs and cakes. And i was like "i want each one of them!!" :p

The price itself is more to the high side. And since we had lunch before, we only order appetizer and cakes. It took quite a long time for us to choose one of the beautiful cakes. Geez. And finally i chose Rocher Monaco along with Ice Lemon Tea, while C was in love with the Angeline cake and Peppermint Tea, and S went with Gateau Au Fromage Blanc with Ice Peach Tea. And for the snack, we agreed to have their Calamari Ring from the appetizer menu.

all of our orders
Gateau Au Fromage Blanc (35k)
This one is rare cheese cake with passion fruit sauce. The combination between the cheese cake and the passion fruit sauce was superb!

Rocher Monaco (38k)
This sexy baby was mine. My first impression after my first dig in was like eating a ferrero rocher chocolate. Intense chocolate and hazelnut flavor, with rice krispies and pie base. But unfortunately, tasted a little too sweet for me.

Calamari Ring (60k)
For me this calamari ring was perfect. It was crispy, not greasy, well seasoned, and both of the sauce brought the calamari to a different level.

Ice Lemon Tea (35k)

Ice Tea (35k) + add Peach Flavor (10k)

Well as you can see the photos above, the Angeline cake and Peppermint Tea individual photos were missing (sorry..)

What i can say about Garcon? You can't expect the price on the low side when you decide to dine at any french bistro. But they offer pretty good deals for the cakes as you can see in the cake display. They also offer quite a wide selection for pastries.

Will i pay a second visit? I can say "sure.." with a wide smile. I'm curious to try their colorful eclairs and some other cakes.

Fulfill Your Belly at Tokyo Belly, Grand Indonesia

It was a rainy day. Me and my friend, A, were craving for something hot and soupy. After wandering around Grand Indonesia, we decided to satisfy our belly at Tokyo Belly.

Tokyo Belly is a part of Ismaya Group. Before, it was named Mr. Curry. Went there a couple of times, and their curry dish was memorable. Tokyo Belly itself is a new style of Japanese bistro and sake bar. The menu varies from omurice, ramen, sushi rolls, curry, hot stone bibimbap, pasta, j-dog (Japanese hotdog) and many more.

Since the weather was cold, i was craving for something hot, soupy, and spicy. My eyes spotted their Tempura Chige ramen. The soup was flaming red named spicy chige soup, combined with all those seafood tempura and seasonal vegetable tempura, and also lava egg. I love the spicy soup. This dish warmed the cold night. And to cool down the hot taste in my mouth, i chose a glass of ice lemon tea.

Ice Lemon Tea (18k)

Andrea decided to try their Seafood and Egg Omelette Hot Stone Bibimbap accompanied with a glass of water. When the hot stone came, it was sizzling hot and it still hot until A finished eating. This dish consists of silky egg omelette mixed with prawns, squids, mussels, and scallops.

Seafood and Egg Omelette Bi-Bim-Bap
Mineral Water 300ml (13k)
I was to full to have dessert, and so was A, so then we decided to skip the dessert. To sum up my dining experience, i love the ramen and definitely going to drop by sometimes to try their other menu. FYI, their food is halal :)

Kitchenette, Senayan City

Been so busy lately and almost losing my appetite to blog, here i'm back on board. I do have so many reviews to write and i hope you guys have the same excitement as i am to share my happiness by eating great food :)

well, i should've post this one just right after my last post (Publico), but then i couldn't have the time to write. But yea better late than never right?? (alesan... :p )

Ismaya is expanding their restaurants branch all over the malls. This Kitchenette is their newest Kitchenette branch, after Plaza Indonesia, Central Park, and Bali Beach Walk. And this was my second visit here. The first visit was really a disappointment.  The service was really bad. Me and my friend had to wait for around 45minutes for our food to be served, and unluckily my friend's order was sold out, and they informed us after we waited for 45MINUTES! Ckck. Then i complained, and they decided to give me a voucher as their apology for the bad service.

So then i came there to redeem the voucher with my roommate,F, they give me a 100k voucher for f&B at their senayan city branch, but i couldn't use them that day because i already ordered their buy one get one Elixir. The voucher couldn't be use with another promo.
Well, they did improved their service. We got our food served in appropriate time and nothing was missed. Even i couldn't use the voucher, i felt happy for the service.

We chose the galettes combo menu. F decided to have Chicken and Avocado salad aside with her Gusteau Galettes , while i had tomato soup and Leon Galettes.

Chicken and Avocado Salad (+25k, galette combo)

The salad itself consists of mushroom, avocado, chicken, baby spinach, tomato, and the one that looks like fried meatball was actually potato ball (i named it by myself. hahaha)

Gusteau Galette (66k)
Gusteau is savory crepes consists of mozzarella cheese, rosemary, bacon (hers was pork bacon), and roast potatoes. It's moist yet crunchy and the amount of cheese was just right. The roast potatoes was crispy and well seasoned.

Tomato soup (+25k, galette combo)
My tomato soup, surprisingly, has a poached egg in it and also tomato chunks. I never eat any tomato soup before, but this one tasted ok, sweet yet sour at the same time.

Leon (65k)

And as for the Leon Galette, consists of saute chili spinach, lyonnaise sausage (mine was pork), and mozzarella cheese. The sausage was too dry and a bit to tough to chew for my liking. The saute spinach was way to salty when i ate it straight, but when i ate it together with the galette, they're beautifully suited each other.

As for the thirst quencher, we ordered Pinacolada and Lychee Berries Frozen Elixir

Pinacolada (40k)
Well, this pinacolada tasted pretty awkward for me. It's a mix of pineapple juice and coconut milk.

Lychee Berry Frozen Elixir (40k)
Watch out! Don't dare to smile too wide after drinking this elixir. Hahaha. But it's amazingly refreshing for hot weather.

What i love from going here is actually because of their Choco Molten Cake. It's a dessert to die for. But i was too full to have dessert, and last week when i went there (May 10th, 2014) unfortunately,  they changed the dessert, no more choco molten cake. too bad. But hey they have a lot of new menus to try. Will definitely write about them any time soon.
